Fall Prevention in Older People
Implementation – Intervention Strategies – practical Experience

Over the last years scientific expertise has been cumulated for fall prevention programs in older people. The future challenge is now the transfer of scientific expertise into the daily routine with the precise application.

The Institute of Sport Science of the University of Erlangen-Nuremburg in cooperation with the Geriatric Center, Hospital of Nuremberg is proud to announce an international symposium with the topic of fall prevention in older persons. The special focus of this symposium will be on implementation strategies as well as fear of falling and curricula for future fall instructors. The keynote speakers will be recognised experts in their fields.

International and national experts together with different professions will be discussing possibilities and barriers in the implementation process for fall prevention programs. Each keynote lecture will be intensified in workshops.

Additional focus will be given to practical hand on experience. New approaches for intervention programs in regards to fear of falling will be demonstrated by international and national experts. Other practice workshop will include gait training as well as multitasking.

Unique of this symposium is the interdisciplinary approach by different disciplines. Medicine professions as well as scientists from the public health area and nongovernmental association will be taking part in the discussions.

This symposium is an excellent opportunity to be informed about newest implementation processes and educational aspects as well as practical implementation in the area of falls in older persons.

The key note lectures will given in English with German translated slides. The Workshops will be bilingual.
